A new generation of South African artists, most of them having grown up 'post-Apartheid', participate in an exhibition at Kunsthal Kade, Amersfoort, the Netherlands.

The works of Neo Matloga, Haroon Gunn-Salie, Dineo Bopape, MADEYOULOOK, Bronwyn Katz and ten others breathe their countries' history, the injustices and all the unfinished business dominating South Africa's political landscape today. However, the exhibition embodies so much more, the participating artists do not show any reluctance to move beyond their own geographical territory. As a result em>Tell Freedom seems as meaningful to 'us' as it is to 'them.'

Kunsthal De Kade has done a tremendous job in bringing the artists together as well as matching a curatorship between the two countries. With this collaboration, Nkule Mabaso and Manon Braat are taking the low lands art world a step further, moving beyond one sided, basically unequal approaches that are still so common in the established artistic arenas.

Tell Freedom is a must see!
