The Somali writer will discuss his oeuvre in a video chat at the upcoming event.
Farah’s debut, From a Crooked Rib, appeared in 1970 as number 80 in Heinemann’s African Writers Series. His most recent novel is North of Dawn (2018). In between, he has written eight more novels and a non-fiction book about life in exile for Somalis. Nuruddin Farah (born 1945) lives in Cape Town and teaches part of the year at Bard University in the United States—now via Zoom, given the uncertain situation for universities and foreigners under Trump, he told us over the phone.
