Signs of Solidarity, The ExhibitionEvents /
It started with a handful of activists, it turned into one of the biggest solidarity movements The Netherlands ever had. An initial affinity with the South African Boers turned into a massive engagement with the black majority. ‘Signs of Solidarity- The Exhibition’ is a moving account of 30 years of protest and debate, boycott and friendship. Experience the mood and militancy of those days, participate in a journey into the do’s and don’ts of international solidarity. Discover perspectives on solidarity with today’s struggles against injustice.
‘Signs of Solidarity’, a ZAM project, has the (financial) support of the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Pretoria, the South African Embassy in The Hague and the International Institute for Social History (ISSG). Curator: Paul Faber. Design: Dave Hoop.
